For the last 82 years, L.E. Jones Company has been in Menominee and the greater Menominee – Marinette area. At that time, there have been thirteen recessions and six periods where the manufacturing sector has pulled back. That’s nearly twenty-times that L.E. Jones Company has had to deal with the ups and downs of their customers and their orders. For nearly two years, L.E. Jones Company has been running seven-days per week with two full weekend shifts in response to customer needs during the pandemic. David Doll CEO L.E. Jones Company says, “L.E. Jones is committed to this community and a five-day workweek is, in all honesty, the best type of work week.”
Doll says, “in my family’s view, as owners of the company, we see this whether it’s normal or a new normal. We see this returning to what is best for our employees and the community.”
L.E. Jones will be returning to a regular five-day workweek, discontinuing the weekend shifts implemented during the pandemic. The company has notified all employees of this change and it is estimated this will affect 80 to 90 of their over 400 employees and their families through a workforce reduction.
