Now that the Menominee Junior/Senior High School has been re-opened, Superintendent Richard Sarau has turned his attention to the planning for the consolidation feasibility study. In his Superintendent’s report to the School Board at last evening’s monthly meeting, Sarau says, “the purpose of the referendum in August 2022 was to address financial projections, which show that the district must prepare for reductions in operational costs.”
Sarau says, “the study will be comprehensive and updated. All relevant information, including but not limited to how best to provide an adequate student learning space, how to provide appropriate programming for all levels of student enrollment, how many changes will affect the financial forecast of the district.”
Sarau states that in conversations with the Building Inspector for the U.P. he has no concerns with Blesch the building. His only concern is occupancy, which he sees no problem with that thus far. The next step will be to reach the Fire Marshall which he sees no issues again on his end besides occupancy. The school district is very optimistic in meeting room occupancy guidelines. As the limit is 50 persons per room.
