Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 29th, the American Legion Post 146 in Menominee will be recognizing National Vietnam Veterans Day on the 50th anniversary of the date of the last combat troops leaving South Vietnam. On this day, the Legion will honor the Vietnam Veterans and their families for their service and remember the men and women who put the lives of others ahead of their own to serve during one of America’s longest foreign wars. American Legion President Judy Pier says, “we are going to have the celebration beginning on the lawn of the American Legion with the flag raising at 9am.”
Pier says, “at the end of the program, all of our Vietnam Veterans will be given a Vietnam Veteran lapel pin.”
Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 29th beginning at 9am at the American Legion Post 146 on First Street in Menominee, there will be a short presentation, guest speakers, and refreshments. This event is open to the public and all Veterans are encouraged to attend. This 50th anniversary, remember to thank your family members, friends, and neighbors who served in the Vietnam War.
