It’s National Police Week a time for police officers to honor their fallen colleagues across the Community, State, and the Country. It’s also about making sure those surviving are supported, as well as to remember their commitment to keeping people safe. Community members can celebrate each day by showing gratitude to the police officers around them. National Police Week is all about honor, gratitude, remembrance, servitude, and peer support. Menominee Police Chief Justin Hofer says, “this is a good opportunity for the public and the police department to interact more in a public setting.”
Hofer says, “on Friday, May 19th we’ll be doing Cops on the Roof at Dunkin’ Donuts”
Also, this week, the Menominee Police Department will announce the winner of the school wide “Name the Robot” contest sponsored by the Menominee Downtown Business Association, Jacks Fresh Market, and the Freedom for Patriots. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, May 17th at 1pm at Blesch Middle School. For a full list of this week’s events and locations, visit their Facebook page at Menominee City Police Department.
