William John “Billy” Strauss,34, of Daggett, was sentenced to 4 years to 15 years in prison for Possession of Methamphetamine. In June, 2022, UPSET Detectives learned that Strauss was receiving Methamphetamine and Fentanyl pills in the United States Mail, at his residence in Daggett. On June 13, 2022, a package was intercepted by the U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office in Green Bay, Wisconsin. A federal search warrant was obtained by the USPIO; contained within the package was a red teddy bear containing 3grams of crystal methamphetamine and 10 blue oxycodone pills. A second search warrant was executed after the package was delivered and UPSET Detectives observed that it had been opened and placed on the kitchen counter. Strauss, who was found hiding in the basement, admitted that he had received previous packages in the mail from Arizona, and that package usually contained methamphetamine and percocet pills. Menominee County Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey Rogg says, “Billy Strauss is a longtime, repeat customer of the Menominee County Court System and finally a stern message has been sent to him with this prison sentence.”
Rogg says, “some drug dealers think they’re clever and smart by receiving drugs in the U.S. mail.”
Strauss was sentenced as a Second Habitual Offender, increasing the penalty by fifty percent. His prison sentence was handed down by the Honorable Christopher S. Ninomiya on May 16th in the 41st Circuit Court.
