FATAL SHOOTING IN AMBERG

An Amberg man is dead and a woman taken into custody as the result of a shooting Monday Evening.  Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller says the call came in at 8:09pm of a man being shot.  Upon arrival, officers found the victim, William H. Freed of Amberg who was dead and secured the location. A woman was taken into custody, and an investigation is pending. The sheriff says there is no threat to the public at this time.   Agencies involved in the investigation are the Marinette County Sheriff’s office, the Marinette County District Attorney’s office, and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s office.  The Niagara Police Department assisted at the scene.
