The victim’s wife is in custody on homicide-related charges in a fatal shooting Monday evening in the Town of Amberg. Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller reports when deputies responded to W7077 Barker Rd. in the Town of Amberg for a report of a male party being shot, they found William H. Freed was dead of a gunshot wound. Deputies took the deceased’s wife, Lori Freed into custody. There were no other persons present at the residence at the time of the incident. The investigation is active and on-going, and a final charging determination will be made pending the outcome of the investigation. Sheriff Miller reminds that Lori Freed is presumed innocent of all charges unless and until proven guilty.
