Menominee Fire Hydrant Flushing Begins

The Menominee Fire Department will be conducting fire hydrant flushing to help maintain the water quality and evaluate the amount of water available for firefighting purposes. The flushing will begin at the south end of 1st Street and continue north up to and including 38th Ave. Flushing will begin today, Thursday, July 13th and continue throughout the summer. Residents may experience some discoloration of water and possibly lower than normal water pressure. These conditions do not represent a health hazard. However, community members are cautioned to determine if their water is clear before washing clothes or any other process as staining may occur. If you experience discolored water, run the cold water in your faucets for 5 to 10 minutes.
