In the realm of justice, a man from Menominee County has been sentenced to four terms of imprisonment

39-year-old, Eric Michael Laurin, of Carney, was sentenced to thirty months to five years in prison for Larceny of a Firearm; two counts of Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property $1,000 to $20,000; and a single count of Tampering with EMC Equipment. According to publicly filed documents and information presented in open court, detectives from both the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police investigated a number of contemporaneous property thefts in the northern Menominee County area during January, 2023, in which Laurin was identified, arrested, and charged. Laurin was required to wear a GPS tether, with a restriction of “house arrest,” as part of his bond in the three felony cases. On March 30, 2023, Laurin violated the terms of his Pre-trial Release Orders by removing the court-mandated GPS tether from his person and concealing himself from law enforcement. Laurin was previously convicted of the 15-year felony of False Pretenses $20,000 to $50,000 in the 41st Circuit Court on October 24th, 2021, and was on active felony probation at the time of his commission of the four new offenses.
