Lines stretch down the block each week at St. Vincent de Paul’s Food Pantry in Marinette with families, senior citizens, disabled, and the displaced patiently waiting for their turn to be handed what might be the only food they will have for a week. Ashley Berken Executive Director of St. Vincent de Paul of Marinette says, “we have distributed just over 500,000 pounds of food in 2023. In just this year alone, the pantry has supported over 5,064 families, encompassing 3,100 children, and 2,685 seniors.”
Berken says, “the way that our Food Pantry here at St. Vincent de Paul is different than most food pantry’s is we’re offering a well-rounded meal and meals for our friends in need.”
The pantry is currently in need of food and financial support. Donations can be made online at svdpmarinette.org. Community Members can aid the pantry’s cause by shopping at the St. Vincent de Paul of Marinette Thrift Store where all proceeds are used to fund the organizations community programs.
