In a surprise turn of events at last evenings special City of Menominee council meeting in an announcement written by incumbent Mayor Jean Stegeman read by Cheryl Haupt during public comment it states, “this community deserves the debate they were promised and the last thing I would want to do is to be disrespectful of their wishes.”
Stegeman says, “I would like to assist St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry during this event.”
Bay Cities Radio reached out to Casey Hoffman for his comment regarding Mayor Stegeman’s announcement; However, no response was received. The City of Menominee Mayoral Debate between incumbent Mayor Jean Stegeman and Casey Hoffman will begin at 6pm at Blesch Auditorium. In a Facebook post last night Hoffman says:
“I heard rumors that my opponent may attend my town hall event at Blesch Auditorium on Thursday at 6:00PM. As of 10:00PM on November 1st, my campaign has not received a request to debate or reviewed any proposed debate rules. I hope my campaign learns more soon.”
