With over eleven and a half hours of deliberation the jury has found former Menominee County Sheriff’s deputy and school resource officer Brian Helfert guilty of one felony count of criminal sexual conduct with a weapon. The Clerk of Court says, “court person, can you please hand the verdict form to the bailiff.”
Menominee County Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey Rogg says, “I sincerely appreciate the obvious great time and effort that the jury spent considering this very difficult charge.”
Helfert’s bond was revoked and sentencing in this matter will take place on February 23rd, 2024, at 9:30am in the 41st Circuit Court before the Honorable Judge Mary B. Barglind at the Menominee County Courthouse. Helfert also has a pre-trial conference this Friday in the 41st Circuit Court before the Honorable Christopher S. Ninomiya where a trial date is expected to be made.
