Zachary Blair, a 17-year-old from Menominee, sustained injuries in a serious car crash last month when his car crashed into a heavy-duty tow truck at around 7pm on November 30th on U.S. 41 in the Town of Peshtigo. The crash happened near the wayside between Marinette and Peshtigo. Town of Peshtigo firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate Zach from the vehicle. They transported him to the Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area, then he spent a day in Green Bay before being transported to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. The driver of the truck was not injured. According to his Go Fund Me page, Zach suffered a broken collarbone, sinus fractures, and swelling on the brain. Michell Brief, associate principal at Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy in Marinette where Zach is a senior, says students in the small school and others in the community have rallied behind the injured student.
