UWGB – Marinette Campus recently held a book and movie sale, it’s part of changes that have hit UW Green Bay’s Campuses. The one-day sale was $1 for all items, cash only. 853 books were sold during the sale in Marinette. The school is subject to certain procedures when getting rid of property obtained using State funds. As of the 2024 calendar year, in-person Library services at UW Green Bay Campuses in Marinette came to end. That was announced back in October. The residents of Marinette were reporting shocked feelings when they found a dumpster that was filled to the brim with library books outside of the city’s UWGB – Marinette Campus. Ending Library services means something must happen with the books, but many are not happy with the choices being made. In an email from UWBG it states, Marinette Campus library is in the process of transitioning to offer digital library resources to students. We have made books available to other UW System libraries, the Stephenson Public Library, NWTC’s library, and to the public via a book sale. The remaining books will be relocated to the UW-Green Bay, Green Bay Campus Cofrin Library. Books that are not part of this collection are currently being recycled. The cut of in-person Library services will save about $67,000 a year in Marinette.
UWGB – Marinette Campus has ended library services, but what about the books?
