38-year-old, Nathan Joseph Bedgood, of Daggett was sentenced to two-years to four-years in prison for Assault with Dangerous Weapon (felonious Assault) and Police Officer – Resisting and Obstructing, With Injury. According to publicly – filed documents and information presented in open court, on August 21st, 2023, Menominee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to W435 County Road 358 Daggett, for an “out of control” male, later identified as Bedgood. When Deputies attempted to arrest Bedgood, he stabbed one of them with a knife. Menominee County Prosecuting Attorney Jeffery T. Rogg says, “Mr. Bedgood posed a significant threat to his family members who called for help, and then the Deputies that arrived to assist them and arrest him.”Rogg says, “I believe that the Michigan Department of Correction sis far better equipped with forensic mental health specialists to meet the needs of Mr. Bedgood than the local county jail.The Honorable Christopher S. Ninomiya handed the prison sentences down on Friday, June 7th,, in the 41st Circuit Court.
