Formerly known as CASA of Menominee County, the non-profit merged operations with Marinette County in January 2023. The funding provided by Marinette County came with it, in the amount of $47,000. However, Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Menominee—Marinette is facing an elimination from the Marinette County Budget for the coming fiscal year. Faith Sandahl, Executive Director of CASA, says,” it was a huge surprise to us. There was no conversation beforehand.”
Sandahl says, “What we’re really looking for are individuals and businesses to partner with us on a monthly basis to give regular on-going donations. That’s really going to be the foundation to keep the program going and continue to serve our kids.
Despite the setback, CASA is headed onwards and upwards despite what the county chooses to do; They’re going to keep serving our kids. Also, anyone who has the capacity to help or desire to help in any form, whether that’s five dollars a month or a thousand dollars a month. CASA is appreciative of any help they can get.
