Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller released additional information on the charges that resulted in the arrest of a person who died March 4th while being held in the Marinette County Jail.

The sheriff says 34-year-old Kristi L. Meverden of Pound was arrested the day prior to her death, on March 3, 2025 at 6:04 p.m. for Operating While Under the Influence, 3^rd Offense, with a minor in vehicle enhancer for three children that were in the vehicle.  She was also cited for Operating after Revocation and failure to operate with headlights on in the same incident.  Additionally, Meverden was also being held on a probation hold through the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections after they were notified of the arrest. Meverden died the evening of March 4^th at the jail despite lifesaving efforts by jail personnel assisted by  Aurora Medical Center – Bay Area EMS and the Marinette Emergency Rescue Squad were called to assist.  The death remains under investigation.
