Voters did not pass a $48 million referendum for Marinette Middle School and High School on Tuesday. It failed 2525 yes to 2171 no. If the referendum had passed, it would have funded renovations to infrastructure, updates to technical education, science labs, auditorium and stage spaces, and improved safety and security, just to name a few. Marinette District Schools Superintendent Corry Lambie had this to say about the outcome…
Lambie says, “The next step in the process is to listen. We’ll be working with our School Board at our April board meeting to review the election results.”
The School District will determine the next steps to include open dialogue and collaboration to find viable solutions that reflect the priorities of the district and the entire community.
