Cellcom customers still cannot make voice calls or send SMS text messages this morning (5/16). Cellcom service was disrupted all day yesterday, and as of late last evening the company said they were still working to restore the services. 911 emergency services are still fully operational and data services, iMessage and RCS messaging are not affected.
Here’s the latest post from Cellcom at 9am 5/16:
Voice and SMS services remain down this morning. Our teams worked through the night and are making meaningful progress behind the scenes. While full restoration is still underway, we want to reassure you: this is not indefinite — and every hour is moving us closer.

We know how hard it is not to have a clear timeline. While we aren’t ready to share final timing, we can commit to transparency as we go. We’re also navigating several factors that are outside of our direct control — but that doesn’t change our responsibility or our urgency. We continue to press on every front to bring services back online. We’re tracking real technical momentum and will keep you informed as we lock in restoration milestones.
We also want to emphasize: protecting your data is one of our highest priorities. There is no indication that customer data has been compromised, and we continue to monitor and investigate with full diligence.
