Prepare to dive into a weekend of fun as Wisconsin’s Free Fishing Weekend arrives on June 7th and 8th! Fishing is license-free for two special days. Residents and visitors don’t need a trout or salmon stamp either. It’s the ideal opportunity for families and friends. To add an extra splash of excitement, Angler Education instructors, clubs, state park staff, and organizations are encouraged to host fishing clinics throughout the state. If you’re planning to organize a clinic, just complete and submit a planning form by May 29, 2025. We’ll help spread the word! Need additional resources like fishing regulations or fish wildcards? Don’t forget to request them alongside your form submission by the same deadline.
Keep in mind that Free Fishing Weekend grants access to all state waters without a license, though certain exceptions may apply. We recommend reviewing the trout regulations or consulting with your local fisheries biologist or DNR. Please note that all other fishing rules—including bag limits, size limits, and species restrictions—will remain in effect. Let’s celebrate this time as a time to reconnect with both fishing and the beauty of nature!
