Three people were killed in an accident in Marinette County Friday evening (5/23/25).
Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller reports that at 9:22 p.m Marinette County Dispatch received a report of a two-vehicle crash on County Highway A at Moonshine Hill Road in the Town of Stephenson.
The investigation indicates that a vehicle operated by 60 year old Daniel W. Mrotek, of Berlin, Wisconsin was traveling west on Moonshine Hill Road when he failed to stop for the stop sign and collided with a vehicle that was traveling north on County Highway A and being operated by 71 year old Thomas J. Robe of Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Mrotek, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from his vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. Robe and the passenger in his vehicle, 68 year old Sharon R. Robe of Oak Creek also sustained fatal injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Also assisting Marinette County deputies at the scene were the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Town of Stephenson Fire Department, Twin Bridge Rescue, 180 Auto and Towing, and Tim Witt Chevrolet Towing.
