Mayor Hoffman explained in detail the various reasons he opposes the current budget, citing misplaced priorities. One of his key points was the historically low funding allocated to the Spies Public Library, at a time when the city should be enhancing the library’s budget.
Following a brief meeting, the City of Menominee adopted its budget, while council member Steve Fifarek was absent and Mayor Hoffman cast a dissenting vote.
