Hormel Foods Corporation is recalling more than 256,000 pounds of its Dinty Moore canned beef stew due to possible contamination with pieces of wood. The recall affects 20-ounce cans labeled “Dinty Moore BEEF STEW” with a “Best by February 2028” date and lot code T-0-2-0-4-5. That code may have additional digits at the end. The issue was discovered after three consumers reported finding wood in the product. So far, no injuries have been reported, but anyone concerned should reach out to their healthcare provider. The USDA says some of the recalled stew may still be sitting in people’s cupboards. If you have it—don’t eat it. Throw it out or return it to the store where you bought it. For more information, contact Hormel at 800-523-4635 or email media@hormel.com.
