34-year-old Samantha Wishman, was convicted of causing the death of her boyfriend’s 3-year-old son and will be sentenced on August 29^th. She pleaded no contest to child neglect, resulting in death and faced additional convictions for stalking and contempt of court. The child died after being found unresponsive to a Gilbert Street home on June 15^th, 2023. Wishman claimed he fell down the stairs, but the autopsy revealed severe injuries inconsistent with her account, including rib fractures and a lung laceration. A report by Dr. Kristen Iniguez concluded the child  likely suffered non-accidental trauma. Text messages from Wishman expressed frustration with the children, and another child in the home described her using a belt, a wooden spoon, and other methods of discipline. Police interviews further highlighted contradictions in her story.
