In Wisconsin, Ross Prior, recently named the state’s Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year for 2024, is inviting the public to a special Woodland Field Day on Saturday, August 2nd. The event will be held on his property, where Prior will showcase a variety of forest management practices he’s put in place. Visitors can expect guided tours of the land, including highlights like white pine management, a hardwood plantation, and deer enclosures designed to protect new tree growth from browsing. The day will also include discussions about ash management and transitioning to other tree species. To top it all off, attendees will enjoy lunch in the woods.
