Residents in Marinette, Peshtigo, and nearby areas are invited to a public listening session on PFAS contamination next month. The Wisconsin DNR will host the meeting on Thursday, September 11th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Marinette — that’s room 101 and 102, near the Green Gable Road entrance. Officials from the DNR and state Department of Health Services will give updates and take questions about the ongoing investigation and cleanup of PFAS — the so-called “forever chemicals” linked to local water contamination. If you can’t make it in person, you can also join by Zoom. And if you’ve got questions or concerns, the DNR is encouraging you to submit them ahead of time by calling 888-626-3244 or emailing DNRJCIPFAS@wisconsin.gov.
More info and the Zoom link will be posted closer to the meeting on the DNR’s Marinette and Peshtigo PFAS webpage.
