One person was killed in a three vehicle accident around noon Sunday on County Road 577 near the intersection with Number 2 Road. Menominee County Sheriff Darrin Kudwa says a southbound SUV driven by 85 year old Gary Gene Nyman of Menominee Township crossed into the northbound lane and struck two oncoming pickup trucks, one pulling a camper. Nyman suffered fatal injuries despite lifesaving efforts being initiated by law enforcement and medical crews within 6 minutes of being dispatched.  The other two drivers sustained minor injuries.  The incident remains under investigation with the Michigan State Police assisting with accident reconstruction.
