The Marinette-Menominee Indivisible group is rallying the community to defend democracy this Saturday with their “No Kings” protest; a peaceful demonstration set to span from the local Interstate Bridge to Green Bay. The No Kings Rally is part of a nationwide day of action emphasizing democracy, equality, and civic engagement. Local Indivisible members say this is a chance for people of all political stripes to stand together for shared values.
Organizers say the local rally begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday on the Interstate Bridge, and will continue until about 1:30; before participants head south to join the larger Green Bay rally.
Participants say this isn’t about party politics; it’s about unity.
“There’s going to be Democrats, Republicans, Independents; everybody together who wants to hold on to our democracy. ‘We the People’ in the Constitution’s preamble.”
