Crews are making steady progress on the Main Street improvement project in Marinette. Last week, the contractor replaced the crosswalk at the Wells Street and Main Street intersection, removed old sidewalks, and prepared for new concrete between Pierce Avenue and Hall Avenue. Workers also installed the concrete bases for new light poles along the corridor. This week’s focus is on sidewalk installation in that same stretch — between Pierce and Hall — along with the construction of a new concrete speed table in the middle of the project area. City officials say the Wells and Main intersection reopened to traffic this morning, and they’re thanking drivers and residents for their continued patience throughout the construction. For more information or updates, residents can contact the city engineering department.
