On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the City of Menominee will hold its general election. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. A special primary election was held earlier this year on August 5th, 2025. Voters will see races for city council seats and key local issues on the ballot. One of the major items for voters to watch: a proposed initiative to cap the number of cannabis dispensaries allowed in the city. The measure was challenged in court but is slated to remain on the ballot. It’s going to be a big conversation in town, what kind of business climate we create, how the community weighs public safety, commercial growth, and citizen input. Here’s what you need to know if you’re planning to vote:
- Make sure you’re registered; the county clerk’s elections website has that info.
- Bring the required photo ID when you vote in person, it’s Michigan law.
Your vote matters especially in a community our size. These decisions set the tone for how Menominee governs itself, how local services operate, and how we shape our future.
