The future of a proposed PUFF Cannabis dispensary in Menominee remains uncertain, as company representatives and employees pressed city leaders to honor prior approvals and allow the business to open. During public comment, PUFF employee Bridget Parker told council members the delays have real-life consequences for workers and families.

Parker emphasized that cannabis is more than a business, it’s medicine that helps people manage PTSD, cancer symptoms, anxiety, and sleep disorders.

PUFF has since filed a lawsuit seeking damages related to lost revenue and months of delay, though speakers stressed litigation was not their preferred path. City officials have stated the City of Menominee is not at liberty to discuss any ongoing litigation at this time. The next court date in the case between the City of Menominee and PUFF Cannabis is currently scheduled for January 8th. PUFF representatives are urging current and incoming council members to resolve the dispute, avoid further legal costs, and restore confidence in the city’s approval process.
