30-year-old, Tavis Dean Hetrick, of Ishpeming, was sentenced to 4 and a half years to 20 years in prison for the Delivery of Methamphetamine. On February 2nd, 2022, when a confidential informant of the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET), reported to Deputies that Hetrick sold him or her 14.3 grams of methamphetamine, at the Island View Casino and Resort, located in Harris Township, for $350 of pre-recorded UPSET funds. After the sales transaction, the CI gave the drugs to the deputy, who conducted a TruNarc test on the drugs, with a positive result for methamphetamine, a Schedule 2 controlled substance. Menominee County Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey Rogg says, “Mr. Hetrick has been convicted twice previously of controlled substance offenses, including Delivery of Methamphetamine, and has yet another controlled substance case pending in Marquette, contemporaneous with this one.” Hetrick’s sentence was handed down on May 5th, by the Honorable Christopher S. Ninomiya in the 41st Circuit Court.
