For the past five years, except this year, The City of Marinette and the Marinette – Menominee Chamber of Commerce have partnered for their annual beautification of the City of Marinette through the use of flower planters as a part of a five-year fishing tournament event that began with first fishing tournament to come to the area, Cabela’s in 2017. Mayor Steve Genisot says, “originally, the flowerpots were purchased through the city’s room tax. We did the annual budget for the flower purchasing and we did after they were planted and moved. We did the watering and weeding.”

Genisot says, “we would like to see some groups set-up, one or more.”
