Last Thursday evening, the City of Menominee held a special council meeting where they deliberated into closed session for over two-hours to discuss the ongoing topic of Marijuana within the city. When reconvened to open session, Alderperson Doug Robinson took the floor with a proposed motion that is in direct accordance with their city charter that allows an individual or a committee to introduce an ordinance, and I would like to introduce and ordinance that repeals the petition marijuana ordinance and replace it with this new ordinance.
Robinson says, “and by adding a new chapter of marijuana establishments.”
Upon a roll call vote, it passed five to four. However, the proposed ordinance now goes to the city attorney for review. There is no timeline as to if or when it will be approved.
