St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marinette is a key provider of food assistance in Marinette County, and they are excited about their new food pantry that is in the former Scoops building on Cleveland Ave. St. Vincent de Paul’s Executive Director Ashley Berken says, “our food pantry, which is currently in the thrift store, and we have about 200 square feet of the thrift store space that we use for the food pantry is going to be expanding into the Scoops Restaurant.”
Berken says, “we were able to make this move because we’ve saved and planned for two to three years.”
The relocation is a testament to the sustained effort and support from donors, volunteers, and the community. SVDP has been a pillar of support for those facing hunger, and this move will further enhance its ability to deliver critical services. The target date for the move to the new pantry is May 1st.
