The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office says they received reports of a possibly intoxicated driver in the area of State Highway 180 and Old County C just after 8:30 p.m. Friday. While attempting to locate the vehicle, deputies got a report of a single-vehicle crash near the W4700 block of State Highway 180 in Wausaukee just after 9 p.m. It was reported that the vehicle left the road and was in some pine trees. Officials say the vehicle that was involved in the crash was the same vehicle from the earlier reports. Deputies say 48-year-old Sandra Kollenbroich of Wausaukee was traveling east on state highway 180 when her vehicle entered a ditch and crashed into a tree. She was not wearing a seatbelt and died in the crash. The crash remains under investigation, but deputies say speed and alcohol appear to be factors.
