The City of Menominee and Menominee County will each be receiving $407,600 dollars from the state as part of a $100 million dollar distribution under the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act for fiscal year 2024. Each county and municipality will receive over $58,200 for each licensed adult-use dispensary in their jurisdiction. Menominee had 7 licensed facilities during the period. The Hannahville Indian Community will receive a payment for one license in their jurisdiction. Marquette County will get the largest payment in the U P with 14 licenses, including 5 in the city of Marquette. The cities of Ironwood and Sault Ste. Marie also have 5 dispensaries in their jurisdictions. The cities of Iron Mountain and Escanaba have two licenses each.
