The “MAAC ATTACK” exhibit of new work by the Menominee Area Arts Council (MAAC) members will open on May 3rd with a “Meet the Artists” reception from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the John Baptist Henes Gallery at Spies Public Library. Various media will be displayed, including acrylic, watercolor, chalk and white chalk, wood, pastel, photography, and sculpture. Some artwork will be available for sale. There is no fee for MAAC members to display their work. The MAAC ATTACK exhibit will be on display in the John Henes Gallery from May 3rd through the 30th, followed by the annual summer show, “Area Artist Showcase,” opening in June. The summer exhibit will be sponsored by the Spies Public Library. There is no fee for MAAC members to display their work. Annual membership costs $20 for individuals and is free for students and educators. Membership dues support youth art activities, public art, and scholarships for students pursuing degrees in fine and performing arts.
