Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller reports that at 2:25 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025, Marinette
County Dispatch received a report of a one-vehicle crash on Cemetery Road near Short Cut Road in the
Town of Pembine.
The investigation indicates that a vehicle operated by Jacob J. Bruneau, age 44, of Pembine, Wisconsin
was traveling east on Cemetery Road when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and collided
with a tree. Bruneau was flown out by the Guardian Life Flight, however, later died as a result of injuries
sustained in the crash.
Speed and failure to maintain control appear to be factors in the crash that remains under investigation by
the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office. Also
assisting Marinette County deputies at the scene were Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine Fire, Pembine-Dunbar-
Beecher Rescue, Guardian Life Flight, Integrity Cares EMS, and Tim Witt Chevrolet Towing.
