Several tornadoes reportedly touched down in western and central Wisconsin late yesterday. The storm brought “significant damage” to Dodge County, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The National Weather Service says tornadoes were spotted shortly before 6 p.m. in Juneau, Horicon and Mayville. The weather service will be assessing damage today. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt said at a news conference that significant damage has taken place in Juneau and Mayville, and there are people without homes. One person in Juneau was transported to a hospital after a roof caved in, but Schmidt said “we’ve had very little in the way of injury.” He added there might have been up to two people reporting minor injuries. Shelters have been set up in both Juneau and Mayville for displaced residents.
The National Weather service reported a tornado near Bancroft in Portage County.
No severe weather was reported locally, although Marinette County was included in a tornado watch last evening.
