A 64 year old Oconto man was killed in a traffic crash on US41 near the intersection of County W in Oconto County’s Town of Little River.
On Friday at approximately 11:03 am, the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatch Center was notified of the two-vehicle accident involving a passenger car and a pickup truck,
A preliminary investigation revealed the truck, operated by a 64 year old man from Oconto, had just completed a turn south onto the highway from CTH W. The car driven by a 39 year old man from Denmark, also traveling south drove into the rear of the truck shoving both vehicles into the median. The driver of the truck died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The driver and lone occupant of the car was transported to a hospital in Green Bay and is being treated for injuries sustained in the crash.
An ongoing criminal investigation is being conducted by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
No other information is being released at this time. The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, Peshtigo Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, the Wisconsin DNR, the Oconto Police Department, the Oconto County Highway Department, the Marinette County Highway Department, Town of Grover Fire Department, Town of Little River Fire Department, Bay Area Ambulance Service, Oconto Fire and EMS, and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
