Marinette Police say a 28 year old man was arrested on several charges following a domestic violence situation in Marinette Sunday. The man reportedly was using his vehicle to run his spouse off the road. The officers were not able to contact the individual , but received reliable information that the suspect may be armed and wanting to get into a shootout with police, Due to the escalating nature of the incident, and that serious felony charges were involved, the Marinette Joint Special Response Team, Crisis Negotiation Team, and Drone Team were activated. Shortly after arriving on the scene, the suspect was taken into custody without incident. Police are forwarded charges to the District Attorney’s Office for Disorderly Conduct DVO, Felony 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Felony intimidation of a victim, and going armed while intoxicated.
Police say at no time was the public in danger, and the matter is considered resolved.
Marinette Police were assisted by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, and Aurora Medical Center Paramedics.
