In a special session last night, the Menominee City Council met behind closed doors to negotiate new contracts for both the Fire and Police Department unions. The original proposal suggested a three percent raise, but after a spirited debate, that figure was amended. Ultimately, the council voted to grant the city manager a five percent salary increase, retroactive to March.
