The search is on–AGAIN–for a new President at the University of Michigan. In an email sent to students, faculty and staff, the U-M regents announced they were officially beginning the search for the university’s 16th president, saying they are committed to identifying and hiring a visionary and dynamic leader. It’s the second time in the past three years that the University has searched for a new leader. In 2022, Santa Ono was chosen as President to replace former President Mark Schlissel , who was fired due to an improper relationship with a University employee. Ono abruptly resigned in May , announcing that he was taking a job as President at the University of Florida. But that appointment was later blocked by that school’s board of Governors. No word on when the search will wrap up.
