Construction is now underway on Main Street in Marinette. Crews have set up detours, removed trees and signs, and sawcut sidewalks — leaving a narrow three-foot path so businesses remain accessible during the project. Starting  today, Monday, July 28th, the existing roadway will be pulverized and removed. Contractors will also begin setting up a temporary above-ground water system. Some properties will experience brief water shutoffs during the switch — and the city says it will notify affected users in advance. Later in the week, storm sewer installation begins at Wells Street and moves west. Drivers are reminded to follow posted detours and use caution. City officials thank residents and businesses for their patience during construction.
