A fatal traffic accident in Menominee Township Tuesday morning has left one person dead and two others hospitalized. Menominee County Sheriff Mike Kudwa says emergency responders were dispatched around 6:06 a.m. to the scene on State Highway M-35 near Elmwood Road. The crash involved a collision between a passenger vehicle and a tanker truck. Tragically, one of the vehicle occupants was pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger was initially transported by ground ambulance to Aurora Medical Center – Bay Area before being flown by helicopter to Milwaukee for advanced medical treatment. A third person involved in the crash was also taken to the hospital for evaluation and care. The incident remains under active investigation by the authorities. The names of those involved are being withheld at this time pending notification of family members. Officials say their thoughts are with the loved ones affected by this tragic event.
