This year’s hunt runs October 4th through the 12th, with thousands of acres available statewide. Some locations can host more hunters than others, so the DNR urges early contact to ensure availability. To participate, hunters must have a valid Class A, C, D, or qualifying Class B disabled permit, a gun deer license, and can only sign up for one sponsored property per year. DNR assistant deer and elk specialist Brooke VanHandel says the hunt offers greater accessibility and thanks landowners for opening their properties to continue Wisconsin’s deer hunting tradition. More details are available on the DNR’s Deer Hunting for Hunters with Disabilities webpage.

The Wisconsin DNR is reminding Hunters with disabilities to lock in their spot for the 2025 Gun Deer Hunt for Hunters with Disabilities by contacting a a hunt landowner sponsor before September 15th
