A Marinette County man convicted of making terrorist threats has been sentenced, but will not return to jail for that case…
Forty-year-old Bryan Korpal was given 13 months in prison Tuesday for threatening to enter the county Human Services building with an AR-15 in May of 2024. Because he had already spent 474 days in custody, the sentence amounts to time served. Judge Peggy Miller also placed him on two years of extended supervision. According to the district attorney’s office, Korpal made the threat during a phone call with social workers and even mimicked the sound of racking a firearm, putting employees on high alert.
In a separate case, Korpal was also sentenced Tuesday to 18 months in prison and two years of supervision for a 2023 child abuse conviction. That sentence will run consecutive to the threats case.
