Family, friends, and community members turned out last night for an emotional candlelight vigil remembering Jakob Bowerman, the 13-year-old boy who died as a result of a drowning incident. The event was held at the Government Pier where family members say Jakob, who is autistic, was being bullied when he was pushed into the water. A 16-year-old and a 21-year male were taken custody in connection with the boy’s death, with pending charges referred to the district attorney’s office.
Funeral services will be held for Jakob Bowerman at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising, MI on Tuesday. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time.
