Authorities are investigating a “credible” bomb threat targeting Michigan’s lieutenant governor. Garlin Gilchrist who announced the threat in a statement Thursday evening. The Lieutenant Governor says the threat has been cleared– thanking law enforcement for their response. In that statement, Gilchrist said this threat was part of an escalating pattern of political violence… referring to the murder of Charlie Kirk on Wednesday. He says political violence cannot be tolerated, excused, or normalized. Gilchrist is one of the top Democrats running for governor in next year’s election.
